At least 50% of the roofs of new high-rise buildings in Uzbekistan will be occupied by solar panels

Uzbekistan requires installing solar panels on at least 50% of the free part of the roofs of new multi-story buildings.

From May 1, Uzbekistan introduces a requirement to install solar panels on at least 50% of the free part of the roof of multi-story buildings put into operation. This is provided for by the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated February 16 on accelerating the introduction of renewable energy sources (RES) and energy-saving technologies in 2023.

The document also approved a plan to provide 765 multi-story buildings with RES installations, which will be operated in 2023. The Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Batyr Zakirov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, deputies of khakis of regions and Tashkent on construction issues are personally responsible for ensuring the implementation of the plan.

The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities was instructed, together with the regional authorities, to “ensure the creation of companies for the installation and maintenance of solar panels on multi-story buildings with the involvement of business entities” within a week.

The Ministry of Construction must also, together with the Ministry of Energy and the Customs Committee, improve the skills of specialists of companies in the installation and maintenance of solar panels in the regions within a month "with the formation of the necessary skills and communication of technical information to them."
