More than 400 billion soums will be directed to the installation of solar panels in state organizations of Tashkent

Over 1,000 budgetary organizations in Tashkent are planned to be equipped with solar panels. More than 400 billion soums will be allocated for this.
In Tashkent, it is planned to allocate 390 billion soums for the installation of solar panels in 1,063 organizations financed from the budgets of the city and districts (kindergartens, schools, hospitals, budgetary organizations). This is provided for by the decision of the capital's council of people's deputies of February 20.
In addition, at the expense of a loan allocated for these purposes from the republican budget to the capital, 11 district khokimiyats will be provided with 7.46 billion soums, 13 prosecutor's offices of districts, and the city - 6.98 billion soums, 16 departments of internal affairs and the police department - 11, 16 billion soums. A total of 40 organizations will receive 25.6 billion soums.
These expenses are planned to be gradually covered by additional sources of income from the local budget of Tashkent in 2023-2024.
On February 8, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that it was planned to allocate $1 billion for the introduction of renewable energy sources in Tashkent. In particular, solar panels will be installed on the buildings of multi-story residential buildings, social facilities, government agencies and private enterprises, industrial zones, car parks, and large water structures.
On February 16, the President signed a resolution to accelerate the introduction of renewable energy and energy-saving technologies in 2023. The document introduces from May 1 the requirement to install solar panels on at least 50% of the free part of the roof of multi-story residential buildings being commissioned.
